Craig Monson is a professor of musicology at Washington University in St. Louis. He specializes in the music and culture of early modern Europe, particularly Italy. Monson has authored and edited several books, including "The Black Madonna in Latin Music and Culture" and "Nuns Behaving Badly: Tales of Music, Magic, Art, and Arson in the Convents of Italy." He has also contributed articles and chapters to numerous academic journals and books.
Tookie Williams, on the other hand, was a convicted murderer and co-founder of the Crips gang in Los Angeles. He was sentenced to death in 1981 for the murders of four people, but maintained his innocence until his execution in 2005. While in prison, Williams became an anti-gang advocate and wrote several books aimed at deterring young people from joining gangs. His work earned him nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize, but also sparked controversy due to the violent nature of his past.
